Dr. JV graduated Louisiana State University Pediatric Residency in 2020. She has a heart for kids and they seem to gravitate towards her. Our team of dental experts have the patience, dedication, expertise and also possess the heart to ensure that the highest standard of care is given to every patient, every time.
Special Care (Needs) Dentistry
Special Care dentistry involves providing tailored preventive and comprehensive dental treatment to individuals that have intellectual, cognitive disabilities or who have other medical, physical or emotional issues regardless of age. Our staff will work to interact positively and encourage good behavior throughout the appointment. Behavior management techniques may consist of tell-show-do, positive reinforcement, voice control, mouth props, nitrous oxide, protective stabilization and general anesthesia. Appointments may take longer; however, special needs dentists are committed to ensuring they provide the best care possible.
Here at Southern Magnolia Dentistry, we understand that patients with special needs can often exhibit combative or defiant behaviors, especially when they are fearful of the unknown. We offer a variety of Sedation options to ensure a positive experience for the patient, as well as providing quality dental care.
